The NBA is chugging towards the playoffs and the weekend schedule is loaded with opportunities as the glory days of the postseason approach. While the rest of the betting world, including the oddsmakers, has their attention on the college games Saturday, there are four NBA contests with some potentially soft lines awaiting. The feature of these is an extremely rare day game on the South Side of Chicago pitting the Bulls and Cavaliers together. Tip-off is 3:00 PM ET.

Cleveland has been playing inimitable basketball in the second half of the season; unfortunately they have been unable to make up much ground on Detroit who has been playing equally as well. The Cavaliers are in the middle of a big five game road trip with winnable stops at Boston and Minnesota still ahead, so today the focus has to be keeping the Bulls at bay. Cleveland after a slow start in road adventures has picked up their play and is nearly .500 on the road overall. Chicago has played with far greater urgency since the All-Star break as well, but really needs help up front. Guards Kirk Henrich and Ben Gordon are carrying too much of the load. Small forward Luol Deng has his nights and Chris Duhon off the bench contributes most of the time, nonetheless the Bulls receive very little out of the #4 and #5 spots on the floor. Chicago has won the last two meetings between these Central division rivals, including at home 103-96 on December 30. The Bulls look to take the season series with a win over the Cavs, who are 7-5 SU & ATS with two days of relaxation. Expect Chicago to play well and beat LeBron James’ ballclub by 4.
